Liverpool’s rough start to the season continued today as they suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. Liverpool have struggled to adjust to life without Suarez, and with Daniel Sturridge injured it doesn’t look like things are going to pick up any time soon.
The Reds have now lost their last three Premier League games and are without a win in four. They currently sit in 12th place, 18 points behind league leaders Chelsea. Expectations were naturally higher for Liverpool this season, following an impressive campaign last year. However, this season’s poor performances have fallen well below the level expected by fans. There are rumours that, after today’s defeat, Brendan Rodgers’ job may be under threat. Personally though, I think it’s far to early to be talking about that.
Here’s how Liverpool fans reacted on Twitter:
We are the joke of the Premier League. So many problems, no structure defensively, little attacking options, 0 creative spark. Poor! #LFC

Tbh I'm not sure if us #LFC fans are sure what we want, we love and respect Rodgers but we've had enough of these poor results! #lfcfamily

It's simply embarrassing, constantly lacking in every single match we play, poor players, poor manager, poor transfer policy. #LFC

Today is done. It was awful, but it's done. We MUST come out all guns blazing against Ludogorets on Wednesday. #LFC #YNWA

Just awful at the moment. I refuse to slag anyone off but we need to improve and do it quickly. Terrible season so far…#LFC

Why would you put yourselves through Motd2 after how inept and awful we were today #LFC

We stood by Rodgers throughout last season, and we should stand by him through this one! #LFC

The hardest thing is after two years of immense progress under Rodgers..we've grounded to a sudden halt & are now in free fall. #lfc

To say we're having a bad season is an understatement! We're really missing Suarez and Sturridge, and just a defence in general #MOTD2 #LFC
