West Ham United fans were full of praise for young left-back Aaron Cresswell this weekend, as he scored the only goal of the game in a 1-0 victory against in-form Newcastle United.
The Hammers defender netted his first Premier League goal of his career and helped secure a clean sheet, which led to manager Sam Allardyce calling him ‘Mr. Dependable’. West Ham fans on Twitter were also delighted with the player’s contribution and congratulated Cresswell on his milestone- but many are predicting this is just the first step towards a bright career.
Fans are now calling for Cresswell to be among England’s next international squad, stating that he is performing better this season than current internationals Leighton Baines and Luke Shaw.

Well done @Aaron_Cresswell on your 1st West Ham goal, only the 14th he’s ever scored

Cresswell was my Man of the Match. His goal was excellent, but his all-round wing play with Downing & Jarvis was good to see.

Jenkinson and Cresswell were very good signings. We’ve been lacking good left and right backs for years. #WHUFC

Cresswell for England? Having a much better season than Shaw and probably Baines.

Cresswell looks a good player. Shame for him that he’s in the same generation as Shaw and Gibbs, would become an England regular otherwise.
