‘What A Header’: Manchester United Fans React To Strikers International Goal

Robin Van Persie was in action for the Nederland’s again tonight and helped the team to secure a comfortable 6-0 victory over Latvia. The Manchester United striker was the first on the score sheet after just 6 minutes, headed in from Arjen Robben’s cross. He continued to assist two more goals before being substituted in the 80th minute.

Van Persie had a fine first season in Manchester following his £24million move from Arsenal. The Dutchman scored 26 goals, which played an integral part in helping Manchester United clinch their 20th league title. But, in the season and a half that has followed, Van Persie’s performances have declined rapidly and have left many questioning whether he is still as good as he once was. He has a history of long-term injuries that may be starting to catch up with him. With that said, his performance tonight might make a few people think twice about writing him off.
