2 More New Signings in a 3-5-2: Chelsea’s Possible Line-Up After The Transfer Window Shuts

Chelsea were pretty limp in the Community Shield against Arsenal and with the extra pressure of Champions League football this season, it’s pretty clear that Antonio Conte’s squad needs to be bolstered.

In this article we take a look at how the team could possibly line up after the transfer window shuts.

GK - Thibaut Courtois

The Villian of the Community Shield, Courtois saw his penalty balloon over the bar, but he needs to refocus himself for the Premier League season as he did look very distraught after that miss. On form he’s one of the best keepers in the world and there’s no doubt he will be Chelsea’s number one this season.

CB - Antonio Rudiger

The new summer signing looks likely to come into the starting eleven and hopefully he will impress. It’s likely to mean that Azpilicueta will shuffle to play as full back - but Rudiger’s arrival gives the Chelsea defence versatility.

CB - David Luiz

The most central of the defensive trio, Luiz is a reliable defender that perhaps had the best season of his career last campaign.

CB - Gary Cahill

The club captain, Cahill needs to be at the heart of this Chelsea team and ensure they can maintain their form from last season and keep going. Too often the previous title winners have fallen apart in the following season, so Chelsea need to buck the trend and they will need leaders to ensure all goes well, Cahill is one of them.
