Another Manchester United veteran who’s position in the side has become difficult to secure, Michael Carrick is likely to find opportunities next season extremely limited as the Red Devils will look to bolster their squad in the transfer market.

Whilst he’s reportedly in contract talks to take his spell at Old Trafford into an 11th season, Carrick could opt to secure a lucrative move to the United States and see out the remainder of his playing career- which is likely to end in 2018 in any scenario.

Turning 36 this summer, United shouldn’t really have a place for him in the squad next season if they land the sort of signings they need and nobody would blame Carrick if he was to move on.
