Bid Made: West Ham Make €35m Bid For Exciting Striker

According to Sky Sports, West Ham United have made a €35 million bid for Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi.

West Ham are desperate to bolster their attacking options this summer and The Hammers have reportedly made an offer this morning (Friday) around 9am for Batshuayi, the deal is worth around £28.25 million.

Following the brexit vote many potential transfer deals could be put into jeopardy this summer, including this one as the amount may change as the exchange rate has fluctuated.

Batshuayi has been monitored by West Ham for several months ahead of a potential summer move, they have now made a formal bid for the player and Marseille are yet to respond.

Batshuayi is currently with the Belgium squad at Euro 2016 and has attracted interest from several top clubs in Europe after it was confirmed he will leave Marseille this summer.

Marseille manager Franck Passi admitted defeat in trying to keep Batshuayi due to their financial troubles.
“Everyone knows he’s leaving, I think it’s included in the budget that Michy will probably be transferred this summer.”

Batshuayi scored 24 goals for Marseille in Ligue 1 last season and has been a real star for them since his move there in 2014.

Batshuayi has also represented Belgium five times score twice and is currently representing them at the Euros, he has been a unused substitute for their three Group E games.

West Ham United may have to be patient in the pursuit for Batshuayi after the striker said he will not change clubs whilst he is on international duty.

“I don’t think about that, I prefer to concentrate 100 per cent on the Euros, then we will see what happens,” Batshuayi told Sky Sports News HQ last month.

“Everybody likes the Premier League. It has a lot of spectacle, a lot of goals and many good players. It is natural that every good player is attracted by that league.”

At the tender age of 22 Batshuayi certainly is already a mature clinical presence. He is strong and fast, and he’s quick and deceptive with his feet. He will love the speed of the Premier League. His style of never giving up when chasing down the defence doesn’t go unnoticed, one of his finest traits is his tenacity, his willingness to get up and close with his marker, lure him in and get around him. Being very inexperienced hasn’t played toll on his early career, He has already developed into a very mature and instinctive finisher with fantastic movement in and around the penalty box. His movement is special, He’s able to draw defenders in and beat them at will, this can appear very selfish of Batshuayi because he does try far too much on his own, he can be guilty of not lifting his head and dribble with his head down, abit similar to the way Alexis Sanchez dribbles.

Juventus are also believed to have made a lower bid for Batshuayi which has not met Marsielle’s demands, he has also been on Tottenham’s radar as they look to support star striker Harry Kane.

it is not yet known whether Marsielle will accept West Ham’s offer of €35 million (£28.25m) but a high fee of that sort will be demanded for one of the most exciting young strikers in Europe.

West Ham are showing a sign of intent this summer and have already splashed bids for Alexandre Lacazette after having a £31 million bid rejected, it was reported on Thursday evening they have returned with a bid of around £40 million despite making a formal bid for Batshuayi.
