Brazil international midfield maestro Philippe Coutinho has once again been linked with a move to Barcelona.
According to Catalan Radio RAC1 as reported by the Metro, the highly rated attacking midfielder has reached a personal agreement with Barcelona for a potential switch to Camp Nou. Liverpool fans who have been banking on football accumulators may have to have a rethink if their talented attacker leaves the club.
Report claims that Barcelona representatives are already in England for talks.
The La Liga giants’ initial offer of £72m was rejected by the Reds, but they are expected to make an improved offer in other to secure the star signature.
Coutinho, whose prolific exploits last season helped the Red Devils qualify for next season Champions League has been in the news all summer about a move to the Barcelona.
It is believed that Barcelona sees Coutinho as a possible replacement for Neymar, who wants to leave Camp Nou for PSG this summer.
Coutinho joined Liverpool in 2013 from Inter Milan in a £8.5 million deal. Since his move to the Merseyside club, the 25-year-old midfielder has made a total of 182 appearances, while finding the back of the net 42 times in all competitions.
He has also featured for the Brazilian national team side 28 times, scoring seven goals.
Fast, skilful and highly creative Coutinho will certainly be a good buy for Barcelona should they be able to prize him away from Liverpool.
However, the South American star is also a target for Ligue 1 giants PSG. The French club are making plans to lure Coutinho to France as they plan to claim the League title next season.
Report according to the Mirror also claims that Liverpool are close to signing RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita, having had their two offers rejected.
It is claimed the Bundesliga club are now preparing life without Keita by scouting potential replacement for the African star.
Meanwhile, Coutinho will travel with his team-mate for a pre-season tournament in Germany today.
