The report has it that Manchester United are ready to move for Jan Oblak and trigger his release clause at Atletico Madrid.
Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea is getting to the final year of his contract at the Old Trafford and has failed to put to pen a new deal at the club.
In the light of this, the Red Devils are in a look-out of getting a perfect replacement for him when the transfer window opens in a few weeks from now.
Atletico’s Jan Oblak is the Premier League giant’s ‘ideal replacement’ for the 28-year-old with talks over his contract extension been played down.
If reports in ESPN are anything to go by, then United are ‘seriously considering’ a move to trigger Oblak’s €120 million (£104m) buy-out in an attempt to bring the Slovenia international to the Premier League next term even despite agreeing a new deal with Atletico in April.
De Gea has not been in his best of form in recent time, having conceded just too many goals in United’s 7 defeats in their last 9 games.
There is no doubt that Oblak will bring in some quality to the Red devil’s squad and will no doubt by an upgrade on De Gea.
However, there are no official reports yet so let take things with a pinch of salt and see what happens when the window opens in coming weeks.
