Match Preview

Everton have improved thoroughly this season under the guidance of Ronald Koeman and they can put real pressure on Arsenal ahead of the Gunners clash with Middlesbrough on Monday, as victory would put the Toffees into sixth spot and potentially as high as fifth.

The hosts will be confident of making it eight consecutive Premier League victories at home against a Burnley side who are yet to secure a win on the road this season. Fortunately, Sean Dyche’s are set to avoid the drop.

Romelu Lukaku, the Premier League’s top-scorer, will be confident of adding to his 23 league goals this season and Burnley’s defence will find it difficult to keep him quiet.

Likely Line-Ups

Everton
Robles; Holgate, Jagielka, Williams, Baines; Gueye, Schneiderlin, Davies; Barkley, Lukaku, Mirallas.

Burnley
Heaton; Lowton, Keane, Mee, Ward; Boyd, Hendrick, Barton, Brady; Barnes, Gray.

Key Stats

Burnley have only won once at Goodison Park in 54 years but beat the Toffees in the reverse clash earlier this season.

An eighth consecutive home win for Everton would be their best top-flight run since January to April 1990.

Only Barcelona (28) have scored more league home goals than Everton’s 26 in 2017.

Burnley are one of just two sides in the English football pyramid yet to secure an away win this term, with the other being Rotherham United.
