After another concerning performance from Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren in the 3-0 defeat to Manchester United, Reds fans turned on the player to declare that he should never play again.
The £20m defender, signed from Southampton this summer, has struggled to adapt to life in Merseyside and it’s taken a turn for the worse in recent weeks. With several tabloids suggesting a major fall-out between the Croatian and Liverpool hero Steven Gerrard, the defender could have done with a decent performance against United this weekend.
After mistake yesterday allowed United to capitalise and score, which made Lovren the defender with the highest number of defensive errors across Europe’s top five leagues. Naturally the fans were furious and it’s difficult to feel sympathy for the vastly under performing defender.
Peak Lovren: Should be in zone covering Moreno. Is actually double-marking Skrtel’s man and not looking at ball #LFC pic.twitter.com/H5X9W2cOnr

Dejan Lovren has made 6 defensive errors this season, more than any other player across Europe’s top 5 leagues. #LFC pic.twitter.com/FXCqFPcnCz

Carragher: “Lovren’s cost a lot of money to fix that defence… he’s actually making it worse.” #LFC

Buying Lovren, and continuing to play him, is the biggest mistake Rodgers has made in his career. Could be the one that finishes him at LFC.

Lovren & Skrtel are the most catastrophic centre back pairing I think I’ve ever seen at LFC

Lovren should never, ever, play for LFC again. Id be better in defence than him.

I’m almost disgusted by the sight of Gerrard and Lovren now. I actually resent them being in the team.

Lovren shall by buried and forever forgotten after that mistake.
