David Ospina – 6

Not a lot to do. Should’ve come off of his line quicker at one point as instructed by Holding, but the Colombian’s hesitance nearly led to a goal. Replaced by Martinez after 67 mins.

Hector Bellerin – 5

Barely noticed Hector at all in the first half, much of Arsenal’s play came down the left. Off for Debuchy after 45 mins.

Rob Holding – 8.5

Silly pass that nearly led to a Chivas goal in the 29th minute, made up for it by tapping in the opener soon after. It was nice to see some chemistry already between Rob and Calum in defence. Holding grew into the game in the second half making several good blocks and forward passes, he looked settled in the Arsenal defence. It looks like only one of Holding, Chambers and Bielik will stay in the first team next season and from what we’ve seen in pre-season, it has got to be Holding.

Calum Chambers – 6

Calum was confident in possession and made several blocks early on. His enthusiasm though, led to errors too – rushing out and allowing opponents to go past him easily, or fouling them. Nice assist to gift Holding a goal. Off for Bielik after 45 mins.

Nacho Monreal – 8

Very energetic and influential, playing as if he’s in his early 20’s. If Walcott could score from 10 yards, he’d have got another assist on the tour. The Spaniard looks ready for the new season. Off for Gibbs after 45 mins but the Englishman was ineffectual so you’d expect Nacho’s place in the line up is safe.

Granit Xhaka – 8

Almost got two assists in the first half, good passes and tackling. Again goes to ground too often though, and that’s a worry if he plays alongside Coquelin once the Premier League starts (I hope he has a more attacking CM partner). Linked up really well with Cazorla in the last 15 minutes of the half. He also won a few headers that some of our shorter central midfielders wouldn’t have. Off for Elneny after 45 mins.

Francis Coquelin – 6

Coquelin made several bad and hard tackles early on, these would not go unpunished in the Premier League. He seriously needs to calm down. We can’t afford another incident like at White Hart Lane. Some good passes in the second half, particularly in the build up for Akpom’s goal. Replaced by Zelalem after 65 mins.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – 7.5

Was bright again, the highlight of his first half was a solo run through the Chivas midfield, but his shot was tame. INCREDIBLE goal early in the second half, great individual run, cut back and finish. If you haven’t already you have to see it. Replaced by Chris Willock after 65 mins.

Santi Cazorla – 8

Great intricate movement and passing, his efforts brought the Arsenal midfield to life at times. He played as a number 10 with Mesut Ozil watching from the sidelines. Orchestrator of a clever free kick that led to the opening goal. Linked up well with new boy Xhaka. Off for Campbell after 45 mins.

Alex Iwobi – 5

Struggled to get into the game but tracked back and tried hard. Moved to number 10 in the second half when Campbell replaced Cazorla and was a bit more influential in this position. Replaced by Jeff Reine-Adelaide after 65 mins.

Theo Walcott – 3

Touch terrible, again. Running out of things to say about Walcott (in a bad way). Should’ve scored from an excellent Monreal cross. Surely he can’t be the man to lead the line against Liverpool in two weeks time? Off for Akpom after 45 mins who scored for a second consecutive game.

Joel Campbell – 5

On for Cazorla after 45 mins. Typical Campbell performance, energetic and enthusiastic throughout but should’ve done better in the final third a couple of times. Almost got into a fight towards the end. Can see him being the fall guy if another wide player arrives, although it should be Theo.

Chuba Akpom – 6.5

On for Walcott after 45 mins. Should’ve scored seconds after coming on but fell over. 10 minutes later he got his goal, another tap in like against MLS All-Stars, getting on to the end of a good cross from a full back. His build up play is not at the level you’d like for a first team player, he still looks a bit immature to feature regularly in the Premier League. His movement and determination alone though, is enough for him to warrant a starting place ahead of Walcott in two weeks time.

Mohammed Elneny – 6

On for Xhaka after 45 mins. The Egyptian was lively and looked to bring the ball forward more than Xhaka. He’s certainly more disciplined than Coquelin and I’d like to see how he performs alongside Granit in the next friendly. Should have hit the target with a couple of his shots.

Kieran Gibbs – 5

On for Monreal after 45 mins. Like Bellerin in the first half, didn’t get into the game.

Mathieu Debuchy – 5.5

On for Bellerin after 45 mins. Did well to create a goal for Akpom, similar to how Monreal did against MLS All-Stars. Golden chance to score in the 70th minute wasted. Gave away a penalty in the 73rd minute which led to the goal, a silly mistake that quickly undid all his previous good work.

Krystian Bielik – 4.5

On for Chambers after 45 mins. Clearly very confident but it is equally as clear that he is not yet first team standard, too many mistakes. He’s a big lad though with a big future, remember he is only 18, in a few years we could have a really good defender.

Jeff Reine-Adelaide – N/A

On for Iwobi after 65 mins.

Chris Willock – N/A

On for Oxlade-Chamberlain after 65 mins.

Gedion Zelalem – N/A

On for Coquelin after 65 mins.

Emiliano Martinez – N/A

On for Ospina after 67 mins.
