Liverpool are set to do some business in the attacking department as the Premier League’s transfer business begins to hot up.
The club look set to recoup £30million for 25-year-old striker Cristian Benteke following a failed spell at the club. According to Sky Sources Liverpool are in talks with Crystal Palace about a transfer for the striker and after missing out on the likes of Michy Batshuayi to Chelsea, it looks like Alan Pardew will not hang with meeting Liverpool’s demands.
The Belgian does not fit with Jurgen Klopp’s style of play and it is now thought that the German manager has approved a £30million deal for Benteke to leave and join Crystal Palace.
With Divock Origi, Roberto Firmino and Daniel Sturridge all competing for that central striking position, Benteke’s chances have been limited at Liverpool, although he still boasts a very respectable goals per 90 mins ratio.
Liverpool fans will hope that should this deal be completed, the club look to reinvest at least part of that fee towards bringing in a new left-back. There are long-term concerns over Alberto Moreno whilst the alternatives to the Spaniard remain minimal.
Crystal Palace are set to sell Yannick Bolasie to Everton for around £25million, so they will use that money to fund a move for Benteke and Pardew remains open to making more additions.
