Jose Mourinho is keen on bolstering his team ahead of the new season and has made two signings so far, with Romelu Lukaku and Victor Lindelof joining the Europa League winners. Now might be a good time to use the 10bet referrer code on United going for the title as they continue to show great ambition in the transfer window.
But the Portuguese coach is not leaving the club’s academy out of the transfer market and has added to their goalkeeping rank.
As confirmed by his agent Charlie McNicholas, goalkeeper Theo Richardson has secured a permanent move to Manchester United from Leeds United, swelling the number of keepers at the club to seven.
The 18-year-old joins the likes of David de Gea, Sergio Romero, Joel Pereira, Kieran O’Hara, Max Johnstone and Ilias Moutha-Sebtaoui at the club.
The Lincoln-born keeper was on trial at Old Trafford towards the end of last season and impressed coaches at the club, prompting Man United to offer him a deal, after Leeds refused to extend his contract which end this summer with them.
McNicholas, who works for World in Motion Agency took to his Twitter account to announce the deal while United have also created a profile for him on the club’s website with the statement:
“Signed on a permanent contract after arriving on a short-term basis towards the end of the 2016/17 season”.
“Formerly with Leeds United, he produced some outstanding performances when thrust into the Reds’ Under-18 team to earn a deal over the course of the summer”.
He made his debut in the academy Manchester Derby at the Etihad Stadium in March making stunning saves, and his brilliant performance in the match earned him a place on the bench for the U23s’ penultimate game of the season against Arsenal.
He may likely join the U23 team and the UEFA Youth League squad but has the likes of David De Gea and Sergio Romero ahead of him in the first-team.
And he will also compete with Kieran O’Hara, Max Johnstone and Joel Pereira for a starting place in the reserve, while Sam Johnstone and Dean Henderson have moved on loan to Aston Villa and Shrewsbury Town respectively this summer.
Richardson was part of the team that featured against Cortiba, Chivas and Real Salt Lake at the Dallas Cup and may also play in United’s return to the prestigious Super Cup NI tournament in Northern Ireland
this week.
