Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel had previously talked about his admiration for the midfielder’s talents while stopping a potential loan move to Southampton during the winter transfer window in January.

Ever since the Scotland international broke into the Blues first-team, Chelsea believed that the young player would earn a spot for himself in Chelsea starting lineup.
