Chelsea could be still involved in some serious business before the window closes this month.
With all the speculation surrounding a move for Romelu Lukaku, there could be transfers that fund that move. According to reports in Italy, Chelsea have already rejected a £51million bid from Napoli for Diego Costa. The rumour is that Costa could leave the club to return to former club Atletico Madrid, but Napoli are now also armed with a war chest of money following the £76million sale of Higuain to arch rivals Juventus.
It looked recently as if Costa would remain with Chelsea but the interest from Napoli may have changed everything. Aged 27, Chelsea will be desperate not to lose a striker of that calibre for the peak years of his career.
Costa was one of the main reasons Chelsea won the league in the 2014/15 season and despite his poor form last campaign, Chelsea fans will be keen to keep hold of the Brazilian.
Because of the money Napoli have, the club are armed with some serious power in the market and they could financially blow Atletico out of the water. There have been rumours that Arsenal are willing to pay Griezmann’s £70million release clause, a transfer that could send all sorts of dominos flying.
Time will tell..
