Ratings: How Everton’s Players Rated In 1-1 Draw vs. Manchester United

Here are Fresh Football’s ratings the clash between Everton and Manchester United at Goodison Park. First, we look at the Everton ratings.

Maarten Stekelenburg - 5

What on earth was he thinking for United’s opening goal? The decision making and communication was poor with him being left red-faced after Ibrahimovic’s goal, apart from the howler, he had little to do in the afternoon and looked comfortable between the sticks.

Seamus Coleman - 7

What a battle it was with Martial, he had his hands full all afternoon but was solid defensively whilst, as always getting forward to help his side on the attack.

Ashley Williams - 7

Had a tough afternoon against Zlatan Ibrahimovic but held his ground well in a very physical battle.

Funes Mori - 7

In the same situation as Williams, had a tough afternoon against the big Swede but was good defensively, holding his own against the United attackers in general.

Leighton Baines - 7.5

Well, against one of the most efficient players in the league, he struggled with Mkhitaryan’s magic but was not left red-faced and had the last laugh scoring the equalising penalty in the 89th minute.

Idrissa Gueye - 9

Gueye was absolutely immense again today, he was impressive from start to finish and dealt with the likes of Herrera and Pogba well, he won the penalty late on and was awarded MOTM after a great display.

Gareth Barry - 6

To be honest Barry was lucky to be on the pitch for the time he was after a few clumsy tackles not being dealt with by the referee, was not his most impressive display though but as always dug deep to help his side.

Tom Cleverley - 5

Facing his former club, it was normal he was well up for it and helped out defensively and offensively but things just did not pull off for the Englishmen and was left frustrated at times.

Yannick Bolasie - 4.5

For someone that promises something so beautiful, Bolasie was very quiet this afternoon against the Red Devils and had little impact on the game, he was subbed off in the second half and was quite poor in possession.

Kevin Mirallas - 6.5

Likewise Bolasie, was quiet through the first half especially as he struggled to make an impact, he could have scored in the 52nd minute but was denied by a superb save from De Gea, did not give up and caused to be a real nuisance in the latter stages.

Romelu Lukaku - 4

For someone who was probably most hungry for the match to send a statement to former boss Jose Mourinho, things didn’t go his way, was shrugged off the ball by United’s defence and was kept quiet during the game, a poor showing.

Subs

Gerrard Deulofeu - 6

Coming on in the 65th minute you just knew Darmian would be in for an even bigger challenge, Deulofeu was brilliant in the closing stages and was a menace going forward.

Mason Holgate - 6

Replacing the injured Coleman, was solid whilst showing glimpses of promising signs, won the battle against Martial and Rashford.

Enner Valencia - 6

Valencia was a true menace when he entered the fray, he could have scored from a bullet header but De Gea was equal to his effort, was a very good cameo for the Toffees man.
