Report: Manchester United Could Sign Copa America Star For £50million

According to reports, Manchester United have been made aware of James Rodriguez’s availability with Real Madrid demanding £50 million for their silky midfielder.

Manchester United have been made aware by Madrid they can have the unsettled Real Madrid star this summer but will have to pay a hefty fee.

Rodriguez has been bitterly disappointing in his opening two seasons with Madrid and has grown frustrated at his lack of playing time, Rodriguez could look for a move away from the La Liga giants in bid to regain regular football.

Colombia star Rodriguez joined Real Madrid in 2014 for a whopping £56 million, although he has not lived up to hs billing Madrid will look to recoup around £50 million taking a £6 million loss.

Since his arrival in Spain from Monaco, Rodriguez has gone on to play 55 games for Real Madrid scoring 20 goals, the talented 24-year-old has also represented Colombia 47 times scoring 16 goals.

Reports coming out of Spain suggest’s Rodriguez has already put up his house for sale amid speculation of him leaving the club this summer.

The 24-year-old forward was an unused substitute for the Champions League final against Atletico Madrid and wants regular football, with United able to offer him that.

New Manchester United boss is represented by the same agent as Rodriguez, Jorge Mendes. Following Colombia’s exit from the Copa America any potential deal could now accelerate.

Manchester United are missing a player of Rodriguez’s calibre, the versatile midfielder can play predominantly as a CAM but can also play on the right. Rodriguez has many strengths in his attacking style and key passes and long shots are up there with his greatest aspects. In the 26 games he played for Madrid last season Rodriguez managed 3.09 key passes per 90 minutes which is exceptional. Rodriguez does like to test his luck from range and managed 1.61 shots form outside the area too. The impressive Colombian didn’t only manage key passes, he aso created 3.57 chances which is once shows why he is still one of Europe’s best.

James Rodriguez showcased to the world why he was the most wanted player in 2014, he took the World Cup by storm and one of the best goals ever in the World Cup, after scoring a stunning volley for Colombia against Uruguay.
Florentino Perez and Zinedine Zidane’s patience are wearing thin with Rodriguez, and with the starlet concerned could see him swap life in sunny Spain for the Premier League.

Rodriguez would be a worthwhile acquisition for United and is worth every penny. The Colombian looks stale with Madrid and may need a fresh start to rekindle his form which saw him bag the big money move to Madrid, he could be the missing piece of the United jigsaw.

If United were to move for Rodriguez it would surely end Juan Mata’s career with the club, with new manager Jose Mourinho looking to rebuild the depleted squad.

Real Madrid are said to be keen in parting ways with Rodriguez as they look to fund a massive move for Paul Pogba, with a deal of around £95 million being mentioned.

If Madrid made it known Rodriguez was for sale this summer there would be many clubs after his services with Juventus and PSG said to be interested.
