2 – Nabil Bentaleb to Napoli
Napoli has emerged as a surprise destination for Tottenham midfielder Nabil Bentaleb after the Italian club expressed an interest in the player.
Tottenham are happy to sell the 21-year-old as they prepare to use the funds from the sale to pursue other potential summer targets.
Although Napoli are believed to be interested, things are still at an early stage as the club have made no formal approach for the player nor a formal enquiry has not yet been made
Bentaleb managed just 180 minutes of Premier League football last season but his talents have still managed to shine through. Standing over 6ft1 Bentaleb has been able to make his physical presence known in the midfield winning a very impressive 71.43% of aerial duels. Being a central midfielder it is always a bonus for the manager if the player is able to win his tackles, Bentaleb managed to win just 0.50 per 90 tackles last season. Something interested clubs will worry about is Bentaleb’s concentration levels, he can sometimes drift from his position and this can be costly especially if his team is caught on the break. At just 21 years-old though this is something that can be taught and be brought into his game but will become more natural as he matures.
Since his move to Tottenham in 2013, Bentaleb has failed to nail down a starting spot and has made just 46 appearances for the North London club, coming mostly form the bench and scoring 0 goals. Bentaleb has already made 17 appearances for Algeria which is very impressive for someone so early on in his career, the midfielder has gone onto score three goals for his country.
Crystal Palace are also thought to the interested in signing the player this summer but with Napoli being a more appealing destination especially with Champions League football it is likely they will persuade the youngster to join Naples this summer.
