4 – Georginio Wijnaldum to Tottenham

Like Sissoko, following Newcastle’s relegation it seemed pretty certain that Wijnaldum would be leaving the club. He was certainly Newcastle best player last season and there has been a lot of interest in the 25-year-old since the window opened. Now Tottenham boss Mauricio Pocchettino seems to be stepping up his attempts to sign the Dutchman, with reports from The Telegraph indicating that serious target for the North London club. The midfielder has started pre-season training with Newcastle, although it is still widely expected that he will leave.

Wijnaldum predominantly plays on the left, but can be used on the right with the advantage to cut in side; his versatility will certainly be an attraction to interested clubs with the player also capable of playing centrally. Wijnaldum can also play centrally and as soon as he gets the ball he wants to dribble, his impressive power on the flanks saw him manage 60.24% success take ons per 90 minutes. One thing that could be improved in Wijnaldum’s play is his final ball, although this could be worked on, he impressively managed to create 1.37 chances per 90 last season.
