Last weekend English Football was forced into silence as the underdog’s ran riot in the F.A Cup, and now with the turn of the Capital One Cup in Sheffield tonight, Tottenham fans will be hoping that it’s not a further case of their being something in the water.
The League One side go into the game with a one goal deficit, following an Andros Townsend penalty in the first leg, however undoubtedly Bramall Lane will be a cacophony of noise in support of the home side, just as the away end at Stamford Bridge was on Saturday when Bradford famously downed their Premier League opponents.
Although it is unlikely a similar performance could be achieved from lower league opposition, Tottenham will unquestionably be aware of the threat posed by taking on the role of favorites for tonight’s sell-out encounter.
So in build-up to tonight’s cup tie for a place in the final against Chelsea, here’s a load of nervous and nostalgic Spurs fans pre-match tweets as six thousand of them head north…
Sheffield is wet and windy but it won’t dampen my singing tonight. #COYS

If you’re not a little nervous about an away trip with a 1 goal advantage to a team 2 leagues below you, you’re not a real spurs fan #COYS

Trying to not think about tonight’s game just yet. It’s way too early in the day for a panic attack. #THFC #COYS

Massive game tonight. As per typical Tottenham, we’ll make hard work of it but hopefully the PL standard shows in the latter. #COYS
