Arsenal fans were left disappointed after their team fell to a 2-1 defeat at White Hart Lane, the home of their bitter rivals Tottenham.
After Mesut Özil’s glorious eleventh minute goal the Gunners managed to cling onto the lead until the eleventh minute of the second half. With half time stats showing possession at 63% to the home team, Arsenal struggled to gain any real control of the game. However Harry Kane scored two second half goals to give Tottenham the win in a derby where no love was lost between the two teams.
In truth, Arsenal never really turned up. They didn’t control the game for any prolonged period. We’ve seen the likes of Santi Cazorla help the Gunners dominate in recent weeks, but the Spaniard was replaced with 25 minutes to go having barely made an impact. Aaron Ramsey was wasteful in possession and the whole of Arsenal’s attacking unit failed to really turn up. Francis Coquelin’s performance was one of the few positives Arsene Wenger and the fans can take from the loss.
Here’s how the Arsenal fans reacted to Saturday’s poor result:
I still think we will finish ahead of them. But we were awful today.

Thankfully we play on Tuesday to get this horrible performance out of our heads

The best team won. Our midfield were a disgrace. Ref played a part as ever. Absolutely gutted. Another chance for daylight wasted. Standard.

Awful approach, deserved to lose in truth. No blame on anyone but ourselves
