Three clubs appear to be in the running to sign Morgan Schneiderlin after he revealed he wants to stay in England, and will only leave Southampton for a club in the Champions League.
Schneiderlin’s latest statement rules Liverpool, Paris Saint Germain and Tottenham out of the running for his signature and gives Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United a boost in their pursuit.
Arsenal fans seem the most confident of signing the French midfielder, as some reports suggest discussions have already taken place.
Schneiderlin also said he wants to give himself the best chance of playing in the European Championships in 2016, meaning he will be looking for regular game time. That may rule out Chelsea who have Nemanja Matic as their firm first choice defensive midfielder.
The Southampton fans seem resigned to losing their star asset this summer but will hope the promise of regular game time sees him stay.

I'd be happy if we just signed Čech n Schneiderlin. There's enough quality n depth in the other positions to challenge for the title
