Twitter Reacts As Chelsea Close In On ‘Incredible’ €30million Midfielder

The latest reports suggest Chelsea are edging closer to a £26.8million January deal for Juan Cuadrado. The Fiorentina winger has been courted by the likes of Barcelona and Manchester United, but Chelsea appear to be close to a deal – if reports are to be believed.

Cuadrado was one of many Colombian players who impressed at the World Cup in 2014 and he attracted plenty of suitors over the summer. Cuadrado is capable of playing at right back, or in any of the positions across midfield. Surprisingly the pacy midfielder has excelled most in an attacking midfield role this season for Fiorentina.

It is reported that Jose Mourinho may have to sell Andre Schurrle and Mohammed Salah in order to free up space on the wage bill to complete any deal for Cuadrado. Would this be a wise move? Schurrle has certainly proved his strengths to Mourinho, but the Portuguese manager seems to be more favourable towards players who can contribute more defensively.
