Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard made his final appearance for the Reds against Manchester United this afternoon- but it didn’t end how he would have wanted.
Gerrard was on the field for just 45 seconds after coming on for Adam Lallana at half-time, before being sent off for a stamp on United midfielder Ander Herrera.
Naturally, Twitter was shocked with what they witnessed as Gerrard handed a major blow to the Reds hopes of securing Champions League football next season. What was he thinking!?

Looks like Gerrard’s missing out on the FA Cup quarter final replay as well. Bottled it, didn’t fancy taking on the greatest at Ewood…

Why didn’t Gerrard kiss the camera?

The way Gerrard’s career is ending is mad. Cost LFC the title, played Suarez on side in the World Cup & now cost LFC top 4.
