Angel Di Maria hasn’t had the best of times at Manchester United following his British record transfer fee move last summer but things went from bad to worse last night.
In the 64th minute against Arsenal, Angel Di Maria dived and received a yellow card. In his anger at a supposedly unjustified booking, the Argentine ace grabbed the shirt of referee Michael Oliver and was given his marching orders.
Twitter didn’t have much sympathy for the former Real Madrid ace, who is now absent for United’s key clash with Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League this weekend.

Two yellow cards for diving… Sent off di Maria for dissent… Michael Oliver should take charge of the referee’s association in England!

Remember slating Welbeck for going to ground easily a few times when he was at United. Di Maria and Januzaj guilty of it tonight. Bugs me.

Di Maria dive embarrassing and you can’t lay hands on a referee. Januzaj also dived. All correct decisions from referee #mufc #afc

Don’t feel sorry for Di Maria, he got away with so many dives like that for Real Madrid. He could’ve easily stayed on his feet, typical.

Summer business not looking the best; Shaw off, Rojo off, Herrera off, Di María sent off and Falcao on the bench.

Stupid reaction from Di Maria. How are United fans complaining about that? Can’t grab the referees shirt and not expect to be booked. Silly!

Stupid from Di Maria. No other way to say it. Even more ridiculous than Smalling’s red card at City. And that’s saying something.
