Manchester United have fallen to yet another disappointing defeat as their season went from bad to worse in Istanbul. Their latest 2-1 defeat leaves United third in their Europa League group, and with some work to do if they want to make it into the knockout stages.
Since Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure from Old Trafford, United fans have seen their team fall from regular title contenders to a team that struggles to make it into Europe. They have seen Louis van Gaal and David Moyes fail in their position as manager, and are now witnessing a another struggle under the proven Jose Mourinho.
United haven’t won in the league since September 24, and Mourinho had been taking a lot of criticism for the poor recent run of results. However, fans are now starting to point the finger at the players, more so than at the start of the season.
The Red Devils were yet again disappointing in Istanbul, and the players have attracted much criticism on social media, not just for the result, but for their attitude out on the pitch.
United had nine shots during the game, created seven chances and delivered 21 crosses into the box. However, it took a Wayne Rooney wonder-strike to get past the Fenerbahce defence. United must learn to be more clinical.
Here is how fans on Twitter reacted to the 2-1 defeat in the Europa League.
United is a really tough club to manage at the minute. Completely shot of confidence and still all the pressures of being United.

The manager isn’t the issue. It’s these players. Need to get their heads out of their own arse. Bunch of overpaid arrogant-for-nothing tools

Mourinho really has his hands full at United. Poor squad, no leaders, no goals. Miles behind the top 4/5.

Mourinho and United no doubt will be extremely disappointed with result, and they must bounce back. They come up against a struggling Swansea side on Sunday afternoon, and the fans will expect United to get back to winning ways with a strong performance and three points at the Liberty Stadium.
