Spurs looked as if they were about to lose their Premier League unbeaten record at the hands of West Ham, and it took a very late comeback from Spurs to seal the win and maintain that unbeaten record.
Slavan Bilic’s side found themselves 2-1 up with just a couple of minutes to go, but saw their lead evaporate before their very eyes, two Harry Kane goals robbing West Ham of the three points at the death.
Mauricio Pochettino made two changes in the second half, Dele Alli and Heung-min Son coming on in place of Vincent Janssen and Mousa Dembele, and it was Son who made a huge impact when it mattered.
He broke free down the left-hand side and delivered a delightful low cross for Harry Kane to convert with just a couple of minutes of normal time left to play. That was not his only key contribution. Son caused trouble again down the left and was brought down in the box. Mike Dean pointed to the spot and Kane stayed cool to win the game for Spurs.
Tottenham fans were delighted with the South Korean’s display, and here is how they as well as other fans reacted on social media to Son’s game changing display.
Son was the real game changer today. Positive, direct, always looking to make things happen + changed the game with two assists #THFC #COYS

Without Son, we likely lose this match 2-1 and leave WHL with our heads down heading into a crucial midweek fixture. Simple. #COYS pic.twitter.com/ZNx92tVFDi

Son provided the explosiveness and width we were missing, and Kane took his chances brilliantly.
What an extraordinary comeback.#COYS pic.twitter.com/A7s4A6Afhm

Heung-Min Son had such a big impact on the game today, his influence has gone completely unnoticed by most. #COYS

Have to say many have overlooked Son’s magical foot-work in order to win penalty @ the death, kudos to Poch for substitution. #COYS#THFC

Son Heung-Min is an absolute worldclass footballer.. Single handedly turned the game on Spur’s favor when he come on

Son has been one of Tottenham’s best performers this season. He stepped up and played well when Harry Kane was out injured, and has continued his excellent form. He will be one of Spurs’ most important players when they travel to Monaco in midweek in a must-win fixture.
