Chelsea look to be desperate to make some more signings ahead of the transfer window slamming shut in two weeks time. Antonio Conte has grown frustrated at the lack of activity so far this summer and there are certain positions that certainly need to be supplemented ahead of the new season.
Chelsea are the title holders, but they have to play much more football this season with the Champions League involved and having lost the likes of John Terry, Nemanja Matic and seemingly soon, Diego Costa in the transfer window, depth, at the very least, is required.
In this article, we take a look at four players being heavily linked with a move to Chelsea currently.
1 – Cedric Soares
According to The Mirror, Conte is targeting Southampton full back Cedric as competition for Victor Moses at right wing back. Reports are that Chelsea’s interest is at around £15million, though S’oton will likely want more than that, with limited time to find a replacement. Cedric won’t be the stellar signing that many fans will be hoping for, but the Portuguese international is a player that is already Premier League proven and settled in the league, so it wouldn’t be a concern that he is joining the squad with the season already underway. It’d be an interesting battle between Cedric and Moses for the wide right berth, as neither player are known as world class, but both have good qualities and are probably at a similar level. The healthy competition between the duo would likely bring out the best of both players.
